MNLA were commissioned to improve the
visibility and appearance of the entry into
Paraparaumu Primary school.
Our approach was to open up the main pedestrian
entry by creating a courtyard between
the schools heritage hall and dental
clinic.
Repeating wall elements at pedestrian and
vehicular entry points helped to articulate
access into the school while a new fence
between these walls helped to protect the
lawns and planted areas.
Simple paving materials helped to keep the
project within budget while adding spatial
defi nition and variety.
Concept design, developed design,
documentation, construction supervison.
